Sail away from..

There’s exitement in the air as the cruise ship heads to the ocean. Since 2013 we’ve sailed from various ports. Here is a collection of views from the ships.

Orlando, Florida: Port Canaveral. This port is an hour from Orlando, which is not ideal (cruise ports within cities are best), but the port has the NASA Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center which is a must visit. Before or after the cruise we recommend also a stay in Orlando. Disneyworld and Universal Studios shouldn’t be missed. We sailed away with Royal Caribbean.

Long Beach, California. Be sure to reserve time for the possible traffic jams. L.A. is specialiced in those. In a good day, it takes about 30 minutes from LAX to the port. The ship you see here is RMS Queen Mary, located next to the cruise port serving as a hotel and an attraction. From here we sailed with Carnival.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Port Everglades must be our favourite so far as it has a perfect location next to everything. We’ve sailed 2 or 3 times on Carnival and then spent some time in the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood area after cruising.

Manhattan Cruise terminal, New York. How much fun it is to sail from Manhattan? Stay in the Big Apple, absorb the city and then sail away. Exeptional views! The downside in winter months is that the Atlantic weather is freezing and it takes a day to hit the warmer climates. Also, the arrival after cruising is like entering a freezer. Not the nicest thing. We tested Norwegian

Port Miami. The location is awesome, easily accessed from the beaches and the city. The city views are stunning from the deck, don’t you think? This busy port is home to many ships, we boarded Norwegian
