🫶Greetings from Barcelona, Mikaela walking the streets & alleys here. DINKgo - Travel Stories Worth Sharing has been on a break for quite some time. 🦠First there was everything COVID 19 that affected our daily lives as night club entrepreneurs and in addition, stopped travel and made blogging and posting travel related stuff feel somewhat uninspirational. 📍We did our last trips abroad cruising in summer 2020 first to Riga and then to Tallinn. However, we didn't post of those trips as the travel related public athmosphere during COVID 19 was at times truly, truly hostile. 📍And then, when we thought the surprises the pandemic kept dropping to our personal & professional life would be the worst thing, Pekka was diagnosed with cancer late 2020. For those of you who don't know, I lost him in March 2022. 📍So, here I am now, in our dear Barcelona on my own. My first solo trip abroad since 2004 and first flight after December 2019. 😌I am thankful, together we saw a great number amazing places and experienced more than many people do in their entire lifetime. Our trips took us to five continents, big cities, rural surroundings and odd places. Urban & pristine nature alike. We sailed oceans, rivers, canals, lakes and stepped on more islands I can remember. We enjoyed local life, learned of different ways of living, absorbed ideas and came up with even more. We followed the footsteps of famous people, dived into movie filming locations and returned to sites that writers describe in novels. Went to cultural events, shows, concerts and exhibitions. Architecture, design, archeology, history, nature, cuisine and drinking cultures. Oh boy. All that inspired us to start DINKgo (double income, no kids) as well.📍So, what now, with the travel media? Frankly, I don't have an answer yet. What I know is that I will continue to travel (week here in Spain, but other good stuff in the horizon already as well) - that's been an integral part of who I am for all my life. I do think I want to create a new brand for the travel related stuff for many reasons. I do have a bachelor's degree in hospitality management and well, sharing is fun❣️😊 #dinkgotravel #travellifestyle #newhorizons

🗺 Well chosen souvenirs have always brought us joy at home. For example the awesome, embroided, decorative pillow cases by @catstudiodesigns on the guest bed at our home office are a great example. 🛫We learned today that @feelfinnair will open a route to Dallas in February 2022. That is super cool, Dallas is such a fun city! 🌻For our generation in Finland, Dallas first came to our living rooms with the dysfunctiontional Ewings. Southfork Ranch opened it's doors to us. We also joined the oil moguls at their meetings and flashy parties with the movers & shakers. Shared the rumors, gossip, love stories and tragic moments. As we visited Dallas in 2017, Southfork Ranch was a must thing to do.
